XIII. International Conference of Croatian Studies
The XIII. International Conference of Croatian Studies will be held in Pécs, 21-22 October 2016. The organizers of the Conference are the Department of Croatian Studies at the Institute for Slavic Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Studies at the Pécs University, Regional Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Research Institute of the Croats in Hungary and the Cultural Institute of the Croats of Vojvodina. This year, the biennial conference is celebrating the 450th anniversary of the Battle of Siget, as well as the 25th anniversary of Hrvatski glasnik, the Croatian magazine issued in Hungary.
Team member dr. Branko Ostajmer will give a lecture at the conference titled Pécs as Croatian Educational Centre in the 19th Century, thus presenting his research conducted at the project “From Proto-Modernisation to Modernisation of the Croatia’s School System” on the subject of Croatian-Hungarian relations in the context of history of schooling and educational practices.
